Mesolithic period - India(stone age)

INTRODUCTION

After the long lifespan of Paleolithic age, the new age comes into existence called as Mesolithic age, Which is also called as middle stone age, people of this age started to evolve into a new form.They started walking due to the evolution of many years. Weather  was also started to change on the earth  and  become hot, so new type of plants and animals come into existence,which help Mesolithic people to habit with new type of food. These human being started to lived long as compare to earlier age which must me proved from their skeleton.There brain also started to became shrink . There tools are more equipped  then previous one.In this age they started to became more civilized.Its must be lasted between 10,000 B.C.-7,000 B.C. 

SOCIAL CULTURE

In this age people started to become more civilized. They started to live in a hut made up of trees leaves and their branches. In this age, people also know that one human being cannot done all things, so, they started to live in a group, like groups 20-25 human beings. In later stage of Mesolithic period group become so large, so they started to declared a leader for a group too. In this age, they also started buried their partner’s dead bodies with different types of artifacts and tools use in daily life like pottery, Jewelry with stone, different tools used hunting and cooking of meat. Most probably they also believed in rebirth like Egypt culture, which must be proof from buried evidence.  In this age, they started to form a society and tools with highly equipped technology like tools with wooden handles other than bone and their tools are called as Micro lithic because it’s becoming small as compare to Paleolithic age.

LIFESTYLE AND FOOD HABITS
The people of this age started new form of food habit like fishing culture. Large amount of fish capture for their livelihoods with well-equipped type of tools good for fishing. In this age people also know about agriculture too in small scale. They started to grow Barley, Maize on the new type of climate after long period of ice age, the climate started become hot which better for livelihood as well as new types of plants and animals come into being. They started to live in front of alluvial plain of ganga, and in front of river valley for better performance of their agriculture other than hill slopes as they live earlier. These was the age to link between old stone age and new stone age, people started to become uncivilized to civilized people. They also started to make pottery, jewelry with stone which must be done by both men and women. Jewelry must be utilized by both men and women which must be proof from their skeleton found in different parts of India. we found large amount of cave painting in cave roofs and the cave walls which proofs from Bhimbetka cave in M.P., which moreover reflect their lifestyle.
GEOGRAPHICAL EXISTENCE
Due change in weather condition of the whole world after period of long ice age the Pleistocene age the climate to become hot, which favorable for agriculture and their important food culture called as fish culture they started to move in front of river valley & alluvial plains. The important sites of this age are Bagor in Rajasthan, Adamgrah in Madhya Pradesh, in southern U.P. and central India.
